Baby's First Camping! - 5 Months

We did so much fun stuff this week it's hard to fit it all! We kicked off the week by meeting Woodridge friends at one of our favorite parks, Lincoln Park in West Seattle, for a swimming play date! 

We also met the fam at the Aqua Sox game in Everett!

We also did another hike with Nan, Kristin, and the boys. This time we went to Lord Hill in Snohomish. Lily is a fan!

Lily is rolling over! She does it a lot with help, and a few times all by herself! I'm obsessing over collages lately...but isn't this cute!!

We went to several classes at the hospital this week. We took Starting Solids, went to our regular weekly class, Gigglers (my first time back since I went back to work, and I sure missed this group!), and Breastfeeding Your Older Baby (6+ months). All of these classes were with our favorite teacher, Christine. I feel like she is our parenting "coach," and I'm so glad to check in with her frequently. It is so much fun to research and learn about all these new things since we had this little person arrive in our lives. In each of these classes this week we talked about how parenting matters, and how what we do now for our baby's eating habits, sleep, attachment and self-soothing will impact them well into their adult life. Not to mention all the benefits from the family table. Lily can sit in her chair, and now joins us for family meals. She started "drinking" water from a cup (more like spilling and splashing!).

 We JUST got home from our first big adventure of the summer...camping! Lily was a trooper and was a great road-tripping baby and camping baby! We went to Cape Disappointment State Park (formerly called Fort Canby...we used to camp there every summer with Mom and Dad!). Here is her first glimpse of the ocean! She already loves the sound and has been listening to it on her sound machine for months!

 Thanks for the new tent, Nan and Ron! It was perfect for our new, expanded family!

 Lily slept just as well as she would normally at home, which was great! Here she is all cozy in footed PJs, double swaddle, sleep sack, and hat. :) I was nervous about our first night in a tent, but it was great!
