Lily is 7 weeks old! She seems to be getting bigger every day. She now weighs about 9 lbs 4 ounces. She is perky, alert, and smiling more and more. She loves to listen to interesting sounds, so we are digging out all the toys and rattles that make different sounds to play with, and sometimes even making our own weird sounds. Ahhh parent life. :) This week Lily was even awake for storytime at the library! Turns out it is way more interesting when you are awake! We also met our friend Wesley and his mom Alena from PEPS at the library, so we weren't the only teeny tiny baby.
We are enjoying getting to know our PEPS group! We hosted the group at our house last week. Here are Daddy and Lily getting ready for our friends to arrive!
Tessa and Rachel took me out on Saturday night...yum dinner at Azul! Kenley and Michael came to hang out with Jason and Lily. Here we are playing with the matching blankets and hats that Kenley's Grandma Karin made for Lily and KK's "Baby Bobbie."
We had our first sick weekend this weekend. Lily was getting fussier and fussier last week, which we thought was just the same cold that the Kings had last week. Over the weekend she started coughing and coughing until she spewed projectile spit up everywhere...multiple times. After doing lots and lots of laundry for both baby and mommy, we headed into the pediatrician on Tuesday. We now think that Lily has acid relux, which is fairly common for young babies. We are stocked up on baby antacids, a brand new humidifier, saline drops, and our spending our time trying to keep food and medicine down. She already seems to be feeling much better! I am feeling much better, too, thanks to Nan and Ron who dropped everything to come with us to the pediatrician and pharmacy, then cooked for us and scrubbed our house from top to bottom, and, to top it all off, held the baby so I could take a nap! Ahhhh...
Jason had his first observation by his principal this week (and nailed it!), and charmed several districts at the Tacoma job fair last week. Rumblings seem to be that there are going to be jobs out there for next year, which is great news! We have started working on applications, and are aiming for either Bellevue, or something closer to home (Northshore, Mukilteo, Everett, Snohomish, or Lake Washington would be great districts to work for!). Jason is kicking butt with the kiddos and looking forward to a relaxing Spring Break soon.
