Remlinger Farm Fun

On Monday, we made our annual trip to Remlinger! This is our third year in a row, and we try to go around Kenley's birthday each summer. Every time we have a blast! This place is not just a farm stand anymore...

Here are the pics from KK's 3rd birthday. Lily was so tiny!

This year we got to introduce Cooper to the Farm, and had a last minute and super fun addition, our friend Alex! He and Lily are a week apart and when we take them out together everyone assumes they are twins! We were a little nervous about a 4 littles: 3 adult ratio, but we survived!

Here is our almost 4 year old girl!!
 Rocking the new stroller.

Alex and Kenley loved their pony rides, but Lily refused to get on "Bumbleberry." Not impressive to her Aunt Pam or Grandma Nan. We'll have to try again next year!

All three of the kids were obsessed with this canoe ride. Luckily the line was short and they could keep riding around and around and around....
And they were pretty wet by the time we got them out!

The only thing that could get them off the canoe...the train!

 Off the the hay jump!

Lily and Alex, ALONE in the mini ferris wheel...no grown ups! It's all fun and games until someone stands up at the top (Alex) and someone else steals their sippy cup (Lily!). Eventually we got them both out again safely!
This year, Kenley was game to try the mini roller coaster for the first time. Uncle Jason was happy to be her buddy! Rachel and I watched nervously to see how she would do, but she had a HUGE smile on her face! She ran off and straight back into line for another 5 rides.

So I took the little kids to drive the old fashioned cars. Good thing there are two spots for steering! Their favorite part was driving past the chickens. Total cuteness to see them both clucking away!

We grabbed some ice cream, fruit, and a pie, rescued Rachel's iphone (ugh, but it is found!) and left the farm with 4 passed out kiddos in our cars. Success!

August Adventures

We've been trying to enjoy every second of being at home with all three of us this summer, and we have been able to pack in a lot of fun things in August!

Lily is getting very adventurous, and loves to take off on walks around the neighborhood.
Most of the time, we end up checking out what is going on at our local duck pond.

We have spent many, many days at the pool this summer, particularly Lily and Jason. Rachel's new neighborhood has a community pool, and we have gotten to take advantage of it more than she has! It has a toddler pool that is no more than 18 inches deep, which Lily loves. We are loving seeing her confidence grow in the water. She will now cruise around on her own, jump in from the side ("three, three, three, weeeee!"), and even blow bubbles! She doesn't mind getting dunked and recovers quickly. We are hoping we are encouraging a water baby!

Most Tuesday mornings, we hit up a kids concert at Juanita Beach Park. We are becoming serious groupies of the local kid music scene, and we get chances to meet up with lots of our baby friends there.

We got to go to Pike Place and meet up with Aunt Linda and Grandma Nan...
...and the next day, the Edmonds Beach and checking out Edmonds with Aunt Linda and Uncle Roger (Nan's brother).

We went to a fun little event: we saw the Husky Helmet car inducted into a local museum, Mohai! We got some 1:1 time with Dubs, watched the short induction ceremony, and got to say hi to some friends and Brad. Lily started dancing up a storm when the band kicked off the ceremony!

Lily wasn't too sure about riding the Fisherman's Wharf carousel, but she definitely knew she did not like getting OFF!
We met Dawn and Elliott at the Seattle Aquarium!

Work is looming with the Institute next week and classroom set up coming up, but I'm sure we'll be able to sneak in a few more adventures before August is up!

Friesen Family Camping!

We had so much fun camping last week! We haven't all been camping together since before Kaden was born, and Justin and Kristin were nice enough to let us crash their family vacation. :) So we all headed up for a few days at Birch Bay, just north of Bellingham. Lily loved hanging out with her cousins, and, of course, lots of outside time!

Jason and I celebrated our fourth anniversary while we were away: a "campiversary!" Jason stopped and got chocolate covered strawberries from the local Edible Arrangements, which we shared with champagne at the campsite. Classy! :)
The highlight of the trip was the Birch Bay waterslides! Lily is becoming a big fan of waterslides...but not of being cold. Her favorite part was watching people come down the big speed slide. Looks like Daddy has a roller coaster buddy blooming after all!
