Our official due date, February 19th, has finally come and gone, and Lily is already 2 weeks old! As much as I loved being pregnant, I am very thankful not to be now! We survived our first two weeks as parents, and everything seems to be going amazingly well! We are all happy, fed, rested, and clean, but we couldn't have done it without the tons and tons of support we've had! As Grandpa Ron says, "Is this that village everyone is talking about?"
Our village:
Thank you to everyone who has
- come to visit
- brought food
- brought and sent gifts
- made diaper/grocery/laundry soap/vitamin water runs
- sent hand-me-downs
- bought cat food (and reminded us to feed the cat)
- sat around the baby-on-lights and kept us from going crazy
- held a sleeping baby so I could shower
- taken us out to lunch just to get out of the house
- had flowers delivered
- taken me out (sans baby!) for a pedicure
- done laundry
- organized shelving
- got a branch off our roof that we've been trying to figure out for weeks
- told us how adorable our baby is
- and so much more!
On Monday we had our first trip to the pediatrician! Since Jason had to go back to school, Bebe went with us. Lily grew 1/2 inch (19 1/2" now!) and weighed in at 6lbs, 12 1/2 oz. Lily also got her first shot, which she did NOT like, but we survived!
We noticed Lily has begun to look intently at things. She is particularly captivated by this quilt that Jason's Aunt Linda sewed for her. I don't blame her, I can't stop staying at it either!
Kristin, Justin, Jack, and Kaden came over on Wednesday and made a delicious dinner. Jack help his cousin for the first time!
We love visitors! On Saturday, Lily met our friends Kim, Geoff, Mike, Carrie, and Cadence. Since Lily has been spending more time awake and alert, they actually got her see her eyes open!
We've been having fun with our perkier baby doing fun things like tummy time, singing, reading, and staring at ourselves in mirrors. We are mostly getting good sleep and Lily has been hungry hungry, and that's pretty much all we can ask for the second week! We are heading to the pediatrician again soon, and have our fingers crossed that we are back up to birth weight!
XOXO to all!
