She's here!
Lily's arrival was everything we wanted it to be. All our planning and preparing really paid off, and she was a star, too! I was 37 weeks, 6 days pregnant, and our midwife had warned us she would be making her appearance any day. Jason came to school and helped me get my classroom set up on Friday afternoon...just in case. We walked out into the school parking lot, and my water broke right there at around 5:15pm! We called the hospital and headed home to pack. We snapped a few final pregnancy photos with Lily still on the inside!
Around 2am, we decided to head to the hospital. Here we are walking the halls trying to get contractions going.
We are ecstatic to see our midwife around 7:20am. Hello Shana!!
Around the same time, all the grandparents started to arrive. We are so excited to meet Baby Lily!
This is about 8:15 when things kicked into high gear. No more joking around, time to focus and get that baby out!
The dads held down the waiting room with ipads and snacks. :)
Jason was a rockstar birth partner. He got so many compliments from all the women in the room. I could not have done it without him!!
11:27am...She's here!!
Auntie Rachel saved the day with her baby catch! Lily popped out in an unexpected direction and landed right on Rachel's knee.
"Cheesy" baby.
7 pounds, 2 ounces and 19 inches long. Pretty good for 2 weeks early!
The grandparents are so happy to meet Lily!
Bath time!
Getting her footprints.
All done! Everyone is ready for a nap.
Jason and I are so thankful for a healthy baby, a perfect birth, and our amazing support team.
