Mukilteo Beach Barbeque - Happy Birthday/Mother's Day/Sunny Day/Excuse to BBQ at the Beach!

We had a great afternoon at the beach today! The weather was perfect. Great Grandma, Great Grandpa, and Lucy and Dave came from Portland! Lily loved checking out all the kids playing (especially her cousins!), snuggling with Great Grandparents and playing with her grandparents, and mostly swinging non-stop.

Rachel and I were spoiled for our birthdays!! Check out my new lens that my family conspired to get me. It's a "Nifty Fifty" 50mm f/1.8G. Hurray!
We were able to hit up the park for some test shots yesterday. :)

There are a couple more on Kenley's blog, too.
New birthday haircuts!

Sunny Weekend! - 15 Months

The sun has arrived in Seattle!! And we definitely tried to make the most of it. Kenley hung out with us for the morning on Saturday.
Our jogger is actually a double...if KK perches on the front section!!
Fun with the purple wall at U Bookstore!

We finally had a chance to bust out the water and sand table that Lily got for Christmas. It was a hit!
Kenley is telling Lily the "rules" of the sand table. She is saying "there are 3 rules. Rule 1 is...." and thinking, "hurray, someone that is smaller that I get to boss around!"

I totally failed by not getting any pictures of Kenley's first fishing trip! She and Papa went to the trout pond and came home with 2 nice ones! KK insisted that we eat it for dinner, and helped Papa get it all prepped for the grill. At dinner she reminded us, "If it starts wiggling, just stab it with your fork."
KK and Uncle Jason played a new game, "Spot It."
Another beautiful day today! We are desperately trying to keep Lily's hair out of her face!
First top knot pony!

Lily and Daddy sign "more."
We got to spend the whole day with Shaina, since she was in town from LA! After enjoying the sun in Rachel's backyard, we headed out to Fremont for the Mobile Food Rodeo...35 food trucks, plus 5 taco trucks! Tacos with a beautiful view of the canal? Plus Lily loved all the dogs. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Tulips, Part II

We had a crazy fun packed weekend last weekend! We started off by hopping in the car and heading up for the tulips...AGAIN. Do I have a great husband or what?? Mom was determined to get up there and not let her extended hospital stay take up her chance! We got up there just after the sun went down, which actually worked out great for pictures. It was perfect weather, and NOT windy! Phew!!

A smile!! Win for Auntie MyMy!
Way, way happier than last time!

Secret to great photos...bring an awesome cousin along!

It's difficult to get 3 year olds to pose....

Hello, Baby Boy! (aka "Pickle Pepper")

KK found a tree just right for climbing!
I bribed her to get this smile. Ha!
As an added bonus, we got to visit sweet Baby W while we were up in Mt. Vernon! Congrats, Geoff and Kim!
On Saturday morning we had a blast at the Seattle Symphony "Tiny Tots" concert. This one was a Western theme, and featured an oboe, clarinet, and french horn. Lily's favorite part was the horse, "Clip Clop!"
Lily will not leave the theater. I think she likes it!
Baby's first trip to Benaroya!
After the concert, we got to have a delicious lunch with Elissa and Cole, and then had a great time at Josh and Jen's wedding. Lily made it through the ceremony, but we ditched her with Aunt Rachel (thank you!!) before the reception. We got to be actual adults and talk to people and stay out late!! No pics though, dang.

On Sunday, we had a little "sprinkle" for our PEPS friends. Two couples are expecting their second babies, and due within a week of each other! We had a little party. They babies are really moving now. Almost everyone can cruise with or without the help of walkers, and they were tearing around the house. Lily and A were doing laps. Lily showed off her new skill. When the walker crashes, she can actually turn it so she can keep going! She can only turn right though, so even if she needs a small adjustment to the left, she turns all the way around the other way! Too funny!

Not Exactly "Tiptoe Through the Tulips... "

We knew we were taking a risk, and were totally prepared for some cloudy or rainy pictures in the tulips this year...something cute with raincoats, adorable boots, and umbrellas, right?? Well, the good news is it wasn't raining. The bad news....

CRAZY WIND!!
Lily want NOT happy. She did NOT like the wind. Or the mud. Or the sun in her face. She still looked cute, though. :)

Yucky hands.

Help, Daddy!

We lasted about 2 minutes.

The tulip fields are LOVELY...from the car.

Attempt #2...with two more coats on.

Tulips leaning in the wind.

I'm starting to feel like this brilliant Tumblr that went viral this weekend: Reasons My Son Is Crying.

Luckily, we met Geoff and Kim for a lovely dinner in Mt. Vernon followed by pie and a tour of their nursery, about to be filled with brand new Baby McCann, who is due any day now!!

Check out last year's tulip pictures here.
