We made it! Our longest road trip yet! We had a blast and saw tons of family and friends. Here are some of the highlights!
Lily is in her new carseat and ready to go! She was a champ on the trip! We only had one meltdown, and a surprising few number of emergency potty stops. Way to go Lily!
First stop: Vancouver/Portland. We visited Elissa and her adorable family, and stopped by for lunch at Grandma and Grandpa Brehm's "restaurant."
Next stop: Bend and Sun River!
One night camping in Bend. It had a great pool, but we also go rained on!
We found Gail, Rachel, Kenley and Cooper in Sun River! We had a blast! We loved checking out Steve and Gail's new house. We swam, biked, hiked, played, and celebrated Cooper's 2nd birthday!
| Raptor show at the High Desert Museum...the kids loved that place! Coop was a big fan of the birds. |
| Hiking the Deschutes River |
| We caught the last shuttle bus up the Cinder Cone at the Lava Lands Visitor Center! |
Next stop: Crater Lake. Fueling up for a long driving day!
| We also deployed a toy Lily has been wanting for a looooong time: Glitter Gliders! This kept her busy for most of the drive (when she wasn't sleeping!) |
This was a beautiful but longer drive than we anticipated. So instead of our Lake Tahoe campground....
Next stop: Lake Tahoe!
| We loved the Gondola ride at the Heavenly Ski Resort! |
| Jason swimming in Lake Tahoe! |
We finally made it to our campground!
| "It's my L!" |
| Marshing the Mellows |
| Lily tricked a nice lady in Truckee that she had been a good girl (spoiler alert: she hadn't!!) and scored this balloon. |
| Then she fell asleep holding it in the tent! |
Next Stop: Sacramento to visit Aunt Cathie, and then we all went on to Walnut Creek to see Chuck!
| Golden Gate Park Children's Playground |
| John Muir House...we all got stamps in our Nat'l Park Passport! Lily liked ringing the bell at the top. |
We loved the steam train and the Merry-Go-Round at Tilden Park! The same train and carousel that Grandma, Grandpa and Mom used to take us to when we were little.
On to Medford! We stopped at the Sun Dial Bridge in Redding. It was a zillion degrees out. Jason would barely stand still for this photo. In Medford, we loved visiting Aunt Becky and Uncle Jim (Lily loved climbing all the stairs in their cool old house and taking a bath in the huge bath tub!), Grandma and Grandpa Friesen, and finally, Uncle Tony and Aunt Pam and their menagerie of critters.
| Lily's horse (according to her), Selah. |
| Lily loved doing donuts in the golf cart with Daddy! |
| Bye Aunt Becky! See you next time! |

We drove almost 2000 miles! We visited 4 aunts, 3 uncles, 2 sets of Great-Grandparents, and 1 bestie + family. We went on 2 carousels. Lily rode a pony, a horse, a steam train and a golf cart. We swam in 4 pools and Lake Tahoe. We found some incredible playgrounds! We added 3 stamps to our National Parks passports and acquired an annual pass. It was a fantastic trip! Thanks to everyone who shared their time and guestrooms with us along the way!
